Manager, Serviceability Services
Steve is the Manager of our Serviceability Services Department, and has been with Rainbow Design Services, Inc. since March, 2009. Steve oversees the many types of surveys we provide for our customers such as residential, commercial, multi-line phone, fiber, and MDU.
Steve comes to Rainbow Design Services, Inc. with over twenty-five years of experience in the telecommunications field. Steve started in cable out of high school for Storer Cable in Louisville, KY as a screener in the Converter Repair Department. The company went through several name changes throughout his 19 years with the company changing from Storer Cable to TKR to TCI to InterMedia and finally to Insight. During this time Steve worked a variety of jobs including Converter Repair Technician, Installer, Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, Security Auditor, Rebuild Auditor, Installation Supervisor, Technical Trainer, and finally as Field Operations Manager where he oversaw the launch of the first Digital Phone Services offered by Insight in Louisville.
As a Technical Trainer for Insight, Steve was responsible for training all new-hire Technicians. This ranged from pole climbing, ladder operations, installation procedures, basic electronics, troubleshooting, coaxial and fiber splicing, line equipment set up, and proof of performance testing.
Steve holds a Master Technician Certification through the National Cable Television Institute (NCTI). This distinction is given to a small percentage of students who complete all of their offered courses. Steve also holds an Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering from Kentucky College of Technology, and an Associates Degree in Telecommunications from Arapahoe College in Denver, CO.
